Acupuncture for Anxiety

I have patients come into my office for several different reasons, but one thing many of them have in common is that they feel anxious. They feel anxious for different reasons and their anxiety presents itself in different ways. OCD, heart palpitations, ruminating thoughts, acne, fatigue, insomnia, and the list goes on. So why are so many of us in this fight or flight mode for most of our days? External factors like work, family and school can be triggers for many, but can we reduce that pit in our stomach even if we can't change some of our external reality? My experience is yes. I have seen so many of my patients manage their anxiety with the help of Acupuncture, it can be truly life changing. Acupuncture helps to stimulate our Parasympathetic Nervous System which in turn helps to reduce anxiety.

"During acupuncture stimulation, heart rate (HR) transiently decreases and autonomic nervous system (ANS) function becomes parasympathetic-dominant".
